This May I am standing for re-election to represent the place I am proud to call home, but to do that I need your help. Running an election campaign isn’t cheap, especially during a pandemic. Every bit of support we get will help us ensure Arnold North is a Labour HOLD and that myself and my colleague & friend Cllr Pauline Allan are re-elected to represent our community on Nottinghamshire County Council. Rules Michael Payne may contact you using the information you supply. Donations to a political party are regulated by the Political Parties Elections and Referendums Act 2000. By making […]

Founded in 1998, Brighton & Hove Wood Recycling Project was the first of its kind in the country, dedicated to recycling waste timber – seeing it for what it really is: not something to discard but a precious resource. Leading the way as a pinnacle of the local circular economy, we are now a charity and our aims are: We are more commonly known by our trading name, The Wood Store. Mamaleh’s Delicatessen has been a destination for bagels, blintzes, and babka since opening in Kendall Square in 2016. Now, the Jewish deli is expanding its footprint, and it’s asking fans for a little help. This summer, Mamaleh’s is set to open another outpost at 1659 Beacon St. in Brookline, the site of a former Dunkin’ shop. Owner Rachel Miller Munzer said the new location will be “a replica of what is happening right now at Mamaleh’s in Cambridge,” in that it will offer counter service with limited table seating coming at a later point. The menu will mostly mimic what […]

The woodland has come up for auction on 30th September 2021 and it is vital the community comes together to secure its future. We don’t know what changes could come in planning law and in the wrong hands there is the possibility the public walkway could be removed, or the woodland could be developed in future. This woodland is a central part of the community hub in the heart of the parish, adjoining Kea Community Centre, The Snooker Club, the Play Area and nationally revered skate park in Playing Place. This space has been enjoyed by the community for over […]
Take a stand with us against abuse and harassment in Westminster MPs can lose their seats for misuse of stationery, but not for sexual harassment or abuse. This is an outrage. The law must be changed so that MPs found guilty of abuse can be fired by their constituents, no exceptions. The Women’s Equality Party has been campaigning for these crucial changes to the Recall Act for years, and we are about to make a huge breakthrough. Over the coming months Parliament will vote on whether to give you the power to fire your MP if they are found guilty […]
The Manuscript The Rook manuscript was compiled in 1840 by John Rook and contains over 1260 tunes from a wide variety of contemporary 19thC and earlier 18thC sources as well as a significant number of otherwise unknown pieces. The cover sheet also indicated that Rook was a multi-instrumentalist playing fiddle, flute, smallpipes, and other instruments. In addition to the sheer quantity of music, the manuscript has some intriguing links both to the very early years of the Northumbrian Smallpipes and the less well documented musical traditions of Cumberland. The manuscript has been shared amongst trad musicians for almost 40 years […]
