2019 ELECTIONS: STANDING FOR THE SILENT MAJORITY IN DEWSBURY AND BATLEY

Dewsbury and Batley have been badly neglected by Kirklees Council over the last 40+ years. The existing local councillors vote with their party and have allowed our towns to be starved of their rightful share of investment and resources. We have seen our area changed beyond recognition, animal welfare being disregarded and council leaders hiding behind the race card when challenged on this.

Someone has to make a stand and fight for the hardworking law-abiding people who for too long have being ignored and sneered at. We need to fight rising crime, secure a much fairer financial settlement for our towns, and hold to account those officials and politicians failing local people.

We are local independent candidates standing in the Kirklees Council elections:

Paul Halloran (left of photo) standing as a Batley Borough Independent in BATLEY WEST (Wilton Park, Carlinghow, Healey & Staincliffe). Father of 3, grew up on Manor Way, worked for Birstall-based paint company Kalon before starting own business in 1995, played rugby league for Batley RLFC and local amateur sides.

Aleks Lukic (right of photo) standing as a Dewsbury Borough Independent in DEWSBURY EAST (Town Centre/College, Earlsheaton, Hanging Heaton, Shaw Cross, Chickenley, Eastborough & Crackenedge). Cyber security advisor and former schoolteacher. Organised 7,800-signature petition calling for Kirklees Council to stop serving meat from non-stun slaughter in school meals.

For too long the existing councillors in Dewsbury and Batley have been voted in via public apathy. Local people want real change, they don’t want more empty promises or politically correct initiatives. They want action and we will not stop in our efforts until that change has been brought about, but this can only happen if people register to vote and get to their polling stations on 2nd May and place their crosses for us.

Every contribution you can make towards our campaigns (even if it’s only a few pounds) will help us to post more leaflets, put up more posters and reach more people online. Please spread the word and tell your family and friends about this page so we have the best chance of achieving real change at these elections.

Finally we would like to say THANK YOU for the many messages of support we have received since we announced we were standing. Every message and every contribution is greatly appreciated!

Each contribution made via this page will be split 50:50 towards Aleks’s and Paul’s candidate spending. Any contribution worth more than £100 in total (£50 per candidate) is regulated by election law, so checks will be made to ensure that the contribution can be accepted and the donor’s details will be included in the spending returns submitted after the election. Personal details will not be used for any other purpose. Contributions must be made from your own funds.

Promoted by Aleks Lukic on behalf of himself and Paul Halloran, both at 6 Boundary Terrace, Dewsbury, WF13 4PN.
