How Over 100 Celebrities Raised $5 Million For Covid Relief In India

A London-based enterprise ‘The World We Want’ organized a global digital broadcast to raise funds for COVID-19 relief in India. It was a three hour digital fundraiser which featured over 100 celebrities from the world of film, music, comedy and sports. Musicians and film celebrities like Ed Sheeran, AR Rahman, Farhan Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Jaaved Jaaferi, Javed Akhtar, Kalki Koechlin, Steven Spielberg, Parineeti Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, Rajkummar Rao, Saif Ali Khan Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sonu Sood were among the many celebrities part of the fundraising programme.

The digital fundraising event raised $5 million for Covid relief, the proceeds of which were used to provide critical facilities such as oxygen concentrators, cylinders, ventilators, and essential medicines as well as ICU units.
