Israel Folau and his crowdfunding campaign is dividing opinion among Christians The Conversation By Geoff Thompson Posted June 26, 2019 04:59:44 For many Christians, Israel Folau has become the talisman in the fight for religious freedom. This week, some Australian Christians rallied behind Folau’s legal battle against Rugby Australia, stepping in when the rugby star’s GoFundMe campaign was shut down. Some Christian leaders have urged the newly re-elected Coalition Government to make religious freedom protections a priority in the wake of Folau’s sacking […]

UK Phantom Heritage Centre – a Heritage crowdfunding project in Kemble by British Phantom Aviation Group

by crypto journalist
Since embarking on active aircraft preservation work in 2015, the British Phantom Aviation Group (BPAG) have achieved some remarkable successes. Most notably the restoration of the cockpit section of XV490 at Newark Air Museum and the rescue of XV582 ‘Black Mike’ from the former RAF Leuchars in Scotland, the latter of which subsequently went on static display to great acclaim at the RAF 100 celebrations in 2018. Both these projects were lucky enough to benefit from being hosted by other organisations (NAM and RAF Cosford respectively) but the time has now come for the BPAG to consolidate its current and […]

Meyer claims this amounts to an interference with the contract he had established with Antarctic, as well as defamation due to the alleged content of the phone call. In a post announcing the launch of the crowdfunding campaign, Waid maintained […]

Japanese professor launches crowdfunding project to recreate amazura, a lost Heian Era sweetener | SoraNews24 -Japan News-

by crypto journalist
Amazura was a popular sweetener among Heian aristocrats but its method of production was lost to time after the widespread diffusion of sugar. With the proliferation of patisseries and baked goods in Japan today, it’s easy to forget that table sugar wasn’t always around. It’s believed to have been introduced to Japan in 754 via envoys from the Tang Dynasty in China but didn’t become widely used until the Edo period (1603-1868). Up until then, another plant-derived sweetener, called amazura, was enjoyed by aristocrats of the Heian period (794-1185). It was often noted in classical works of literature of the time, […]
